Lets Talk Ai Branding
When I approached designing my new brand, I asked myself, "What is different now?" After all, this isn't the first time I've designed a brand, but what sets this time apart from the others? Why don't I want to create this brand like all the others I've designed before?
The answer was straightforward: "Because we're in a different time now, and we need to start adapting."
Especially since I started to become an ai researcher myself while im researching
how AI tools could be integrated into the design process. So I had to "walk the talk" and use these tools to create the base of the graphic language elements for my brand.
However, I knew that I wouldn't be able to solely rely on AI tools to create the entire brand. Not only because we are not there yet, but I also don't believe in it. I believe we need to work in a hybrid way, as designers after all. I don't want to give these tools 100% control over the final result.
That's why it was important for me to create the visual basis of my brand using Mid Journey, and then fine-tune the design with Figma and other design tools. This hybrid approach allows me to have the control I need as a designer, while still incorporating the benefits of AI tools
Logo Concept
The logo I created has a message to the viewer: "Come, imagine with me." I drew inspiration from the well-known and beloved "Imagine" command in Mid Journey. I took the slash from the command and added the brand name afterwards.
The entire brand was created through imagination. The technological revolution that is taking place at this very moment swept me in and I imagined the future of the industry and where we're headed. And so, I founded this brand. To carry more people along with me, to teach and bridge the gap between technology and the various needs of designers and other professionals.
Brand Assets
The first graphic asset I created was 3D amorphous textures, which will be used as backgrounds for the brand's visual products. When I started to create this asset, I immediately turned to Mid Journey. I believe this is a classic example of how these tools can produce high-quality results in a minimal amount of time.
It was important to me to maintain a proper design process because, with all due respect to the AI tool, design is design. That's why I researched references, created a mood board, and understood the style, formality, and look and feel I wanted to achieve.
After creating the mood board, I created a Mid Journey style that aligned with my desired results, making slight adjustments each time to create more variations in the textures and provide a wider range for this style.
I viewed the product I got from Mid Journey only as a foundation for the design I was aiming for, and not as a finished product. I brought it to Figma to give it some extra warmth and love and tailor it to my brand language.
Mockups Creating
It was another enjoyable step in the creative process. Instead of searching for a common generic mockup seen a million times, I created unique mockups myself using Mid Journey. After creating several mockups, I opened them in Photoshop and converted them into a live mockup. Then, I used another AI tool to further process the image for authenticity and a sense of realism that a mockup image should have.
Typography and colors
I chose the "Rubik" font as the primary font in the brand's language. I wanted a sturdy and sans-serif font with high legibility and formality that communicates the brand's principles. One of the brand's look and feel principles is "innovation," so I also selected a color palette from the world of dark mode, a combination of dark shades and a bright red shade that conveys technology and innovation.
